She has been sleeping non stop since she got sick.
So this week I learned one of the hard parts about having a little baby: watching them get sick. We have been extremely vigilant with our little one because of all the problems she had a birth. At the first sign of wheezing I generally freak out so naturally last Wednesday when it seemed out of the ordinary I took her to the doctor. At that point they thought she just had a little viral infection. By Monday she was coughing so hard that we took her back to the doctor. Turned out she had an ear infection and a sinus infection. So for the past couple of days we have been medicating our little baby and watching in sadness as she pulls on her little ear, cries out in pain and snores at night. There is nothing more sad than a little baby who is congested and can't do a thing about it to make themselves more comfortable. Hearing Laurelei with a heavy, chest rattling cough has almost made me cry! I have learned that nothing is more heart-wrenching than a sick little baby.
She is finally starting to feel a little better and even got out of the house for a little bit today to enjoy the warm weather. We are hoping that she continues to feel better so that we can enjoy the last couple of days of our spring break together! Tomorrow we are heading to North Carolina with my mom to see Lindsey and celebrate her new house!
